Abstract
Petri nets play an important role for modeling FMS. The knitting technique provides a set of simple synthesis rules to construct a large Petri net (PN) avoiding time-consuming verification. An algorithm was developed for the synthesis. We have extended the knitting technique to handle a resource sharing FMS. The implementation as a CAD tool is discussed.
