Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed a new method for placement of repeaters with PL lines. The VHF radio spectrum involves line-of-sight transmission and reception. This limitation can be overcome by "repeaters," which are used to pick up weak signals, amplify and retransmit them on different frequencies. Thus, using a repeater, low-power users (such as mobile stations) can communicate with one another in situation where direct user-to-user contact is unavailable. The number of repeaters should be minimized for conservation purpose. To handle this target, firstly, the basic math model of repeater distribution problems are analyzed, and then an optimal method to solve this problem is given step by step, that is, firstly, the minimum PLs used in the area with users not regularly distributed, a method to achieve seamless cover, and last, analysis of MST algorithm. The method is easy to be accomplished and can be extended to general distribution of repeaters.
