Abstract
A large absolute bandwidth of IR-UWB signal offers high resolution localization system with improved ranging accuracy. In such system, both the peak position and pulse width of the radiated pulse vary with directions, which can cause error in detecting the peak position of pulse. The range measurement of UWB localization system may be affected significantly by the angle-dependent pulse distortion in UWB radiation. For localization system using IR-UWB, proper choice of antenna structure and will improve effectively the range accuracy of the localization system.
