Abstract
Numerical solutions for near electromagnetic fields excited by short dipoles printed on grounded chiral slabs are presented. Using the full-wave spectral-domain analysis method developed for open chirostrip structures, expressions for electromagnetic field components are obtained. The effects of chirality on the near field distributions and on the dispersion curves of the surface wave modes are discussed. The results of this investigation confirm that all guided modes are hybrid and that bifurcated modes, currently observed in other chirowaveguide structures, are absent in grounded chiral slabs
