Abstract
Lately, a growing interest in the development of microstrip antennas on magnetized ferrites has been observed, because they offer magnetic tuning and scanning capabilities. A suspended microstrip patch resonator on a magnetized ferrite offers another tuning possibility, which is obtained by varying the distance from the ground plane to the ferrimagnetic layer. The authors investigate the tuning capability of suspended microstrip patch resonators by using a combination of the Hertz potentials and the moment methods. Curves of the resonant frequency and the Q factor are presented as functions of the suspended microstrip patch resonator geometry
