Abstract :
The electromagnetic coupling through the 29 forward windows of a large wide-body commercial aircraft was measured. For frequencies below 60 MHz, the magnetic field transfer function was independent of frequency and decreased as 1r2. The transfer function between the aircraft fuselage and the current on vertical cables near the windows was about -90 dB for frequencies between 0.5 and 10 MHz. This corresponds to a cable current of 200 mA for a fuselage current of 6 kA. Above 60 MHz, the magnetic field transfer function increased as it approached the aperture resonance
