Abstract :
In this paper the problem of optimally scheduling the thermal generating units using artificial bee´s colony algorithm has been presented. The optimization problem involves economically scheduling the generating units considering some of the primary constraints like meeting total load demand at any given interval of time, minimum and maximum power generation limits etc. The algorithm presented in this paper also consider the effect of Bmn coefficients while solving the economic load dispatch problem for ten generating units, the total line losses also included while solving the problem.
