Abstract :
The analysis of different power system events is important for the successful operation of the system and the optimal design and configuration of protection and control systems. The paper analyzes the types of system events, available data sources and requirements for the development of hierarchical event analysis systems. The need for common record formats and configuration data are discussed. The importance of accurate time-synchronization and methods to achieve it is also described.
