Abstract
A user may want to access user´s shares from a remote machine. These create several access complexities between the computers in the network systems. With the advent of the Linux operating system, it has been necessary to include Linux also in the network. Windows machines use server message blocks (SMB) to communicate with each other. Linux systems can access Windows systems using Samba, which is an emulated form of SMB. This paper reports a new protocol, Samba data transfer protocol (SDTP), helps to access shares in remote networks. Using this user can access user´s shares in user´s LAN from anywhere in the world without any complexity, provided that the remote neighborhood server is running in a Linux machine. The software gives high-end security and efficiency to users and network administrator. The client browser is highly user friendly; incorporates different functionalities such as uploading and downloading of files. The browser software is developed to run on any platform
