Abstract :
Optoelectronic component interconnections are essential for high data transfer performance in gigabit per second systems and ultrashort pulse applications. Bias “T” units have found extensive use as DC supplies for lasers and photodiodes. However, commercially available units for microwave components operation have not only large dimensions but also very high prices. The very high speed/broadband bias unit presented operates from 100 MHz up to 20 GHz. Thin film technology was used. It was designed for broadband and fast pulse response operation. The measured performance shows good agreement with respect to circuit simulation prediction
