Abstract :
A software package for treating electrostatic phenomena in the active medium of an X-ray detector is presented. Use is made of the method of moments to solve numerically the matrix equation derived for the physical problem consisting in a finite number of anode wires between two cathode planes. Preliminary results show the capability of the algorithm to compute the edge effects which must be taken into account in the design of the detectors
