  • Abstract
    August, 8, 2010 morning, Zhouqu County, Gansu Province, because of sudden heavy rainfall, the Sanyanyu and Luojiayu gully north of the county discharged, from north to south rushed into the town, and Bailong River was blocked by debris flows to form the barrier lake. Zhouqu County South and North Riverside Road were submerged, most buildings and bungalows in Bailong riverside serious submerged. Zhouqu County located in mountainous areas, transport and communication interruption, so damage evaluation of the site investigation is more difficult in the remote mountainous area of Gansu province. The debris flow is mainly from the Sanyanyu and Luojiayu gully to form two large debris flow zone, but devastating Sanyanyu debris flow caused a large number of casualties and economic losses. A large number of debris flows investigation shows that rapid emergency response can effectively reduce the casualties and loss caused by disasters. In this paper, combined with previous experience of remote sensing investigation of debris flow, It is conducted that investigation and analysis use of Quickbird high-resolution remote sensing data to residential damaged and debris flow disaster in the study area of large debris flow disaster in Zhouqu, to provide technical support for disaster mitigation and relief.
