Abstract
A spatial decision support system has been developed to support local authorities in point source pollution management. As a decision support tool, the model provides a means to assemble key pieces of information and reasoning that support point source pollution management or regulatory decisions. It specifically illustrates the use of geographical information system for the management of point source pollution in a case study of Khon Kaen city. The system enables mapping of factories, rock mining, pig farms, slaughter houses, hospitals, and hotels. Pollution prevention strategies for environment and land use can be evaluated using this system to ensure long-term sustainability of clean community
