Knowledge-based Flexible Business Process Management

Business process is the major factor of sustaining and improving enterprise´s core competence. Along with the development of information technology and marketing globalization, enterprise´s business process shows the characteristics of temporariness and dynamic, which requires agile changing. Traditional business process management (BPM) can not adapt this trend, therefore it reflects as rigidity. This article proposes knowledge-based flexible BPM, which combines knowledge management with BPM. A knowledge-based flexible BPM system architecture is also established, which supports the whole lifecycle of flexible BPM, from process modeling to optimization, from operation monitor to exception handling, and satisfies the request from modern enterprise for BPM, such as reliable, agile, efficient and adaptable
