Abstract
Frame relay is starting to be deployed within relatively small networks to support applications such as LAN interconnect. It is also being used to increase bandwidth utilisation on trunk kinks within corporate networks. ISDN frame relay capability is expected within a few years, but in this role it will demand more from the equipment and a wider range of issues need to be addressed. Nevertheless such early networks can form the foundation for an evolution path towards full integration of frame relay services within the ISDN
