Abstract :
One basic element in power system planning is the determination of how much generating capacity is required to give a reasonable assurance of satisfying the load requirement. The authors present a new technique based on the statistical moments and cumulants for incorporating load forecast uncertainty into the algorithm for maintenance scheduling in single systems. The proposed algorithm has been implemented in a fast and flexible computer program which has been applied to the IEEE Reliability Test System (RTS) and the Saskatchewan Power Corporation
