Abstract :
An airborne multi-pencil beam rotating scatterometer is introduced in this paper. Multi-pencil beam scatterometer can obtain echoes of sea surface and precipitation simultaneously. When the radar system parameters and retrieving arithmetic are carefully designed, sea surface wind vector, three Domain wind vector above the sea and the vertical structure of the precipitation can be refined from the multi-angle echoes. In this paper, the key technologies, such as precipitation and sea surface decoupling arithmetic and pulse compression with low side lobe arithmetic are applied to obtain the wind vector and precipitation structure.
