ISDN: the multi-media enabling technology for Europe

ISDN has now reached a level of technical maturity at which it can no longer be regarded as a future technology´. The paper reviews the present status of ISDN, particularly in the UK, and explores the factors influencing its rate of adsorption by users. It then outlines the experience of some researchers in multimedia applications in UK and European programmes, suggesting some of the ways in which ISDN is likely to change the way people live and work
