Abstract :
Two strategies to increase the forward link capacity of CDMA systems are compared. The strategies are based on reducing the data rate of selected mobile connections. The two strategies are analyzed mathematically and by simulation. The comparison shows that reducing the data rate of mobile connections suffering the worst propagation conditions benefit the system the most.
