Abstract :
This paper introduces technical details for a low-cost digital BTSC compatible encoder implementation for consumer equipment. The paper presents the reciprocal index lookup table technique, a key enabling technology for efficient logic implementation of the variable spectral compressor, and presents a tutorial on the design of gate-efficient audio filters in digital logic.
