Abstract :
Production process planning is fundamental to start a product manufacture or a building construction. But the production process planning needs so many experiences and skills that a planner is difficult to bring out an excellent process plan in limited time. This paper presents an innovative process planning model for assembled production. The basic idea of this model is to generate process plans for an assembly by systematically analysis of its geometric accessibility and case learning. Disassembly and assembly process is automatically derived from geometric accessibility analysis by reasoning, and case learning provides knowledge to improve accuracy of assembly process. In order to verify this model, a pilot system is implemented to automate process planning in building construction, which is similar to assembly of products.
