Abstract
Results of a parametric study investigating the axisymmetric consolidation of a semi-infinite isotropic saturated clay subjected to a time-varying circular pressure at the ground surface are presented in this paper. Biotpsilas governing consolidation equations for transversely isotropic clay is used here; the general solutions have been previously derived by applying the Laplace-Hankel transform technique. Use the numerical inverting procedure to study the consolidation behavior in the time domain for some conventional loading cases. Useful results obtained from this paper can be used into practice directly.
