Abstract
The design of a 500-MeV electron storage ring with long insertions for undulators is presented. The ring is designed to provide an emittance of 0.1 mm-mrad, an average current of 1 A, and an electron beam lifetime of greater than 3 h. The undulators operating near K=1, yield 10/sup 15/ ph/s/0.1% bandwidth in the fundamental.<>
