  • Abstract
Two coding techniques are adopted in this paper to improve the performance of Space Time Block Codes-Spatial Modulation (STBC-SM). The two adopted coding techniques are the turbo-coding technique and the convolutional-coding technique over block fading channel. The signals used in the two coded systems are assumed to be modulated using BPSK and QPSK. The MATLAB simulation results show that at a BER of 10-5, the turbo-coded and convolutional-coded systems can provide about 3-4.5 dB and 2.7-3.8 dB coding gains respectively compared with the uncoded system.
