Abstract :
The article generally analyzes the main theories concerning selective attention and some lasest findings in this aspect, and tries to integrate such theories with multimedia-based English class teaching, as well as explores such an issue as how to present in-class information and main factors which influence classroom attention. It is believed that the presentation of instructional information in class must take into consideration the learners´ needs and their cognitive features. Besides, based on the theories of selective attention and some relevant researches, the principle of presenting instructional information in English class is put forward.
