Abstract :
As is well known, space-borne coherent wind LIDAR system is considered to be a useful tool to directly obtain the global distribution of 3-dimensional wind field. The article introduces the space-borne wind LIDAR system, and the development of it. The advantage and system indicators of space-borne coherent wind LIDAR were discussed, and the difficulty of building such a system was analyzed. A ground validation system with a 2°m solid-state laser, φ150 Cassegrain and Glens is built on the basis of the wind LIDAR system.
