Abstract :
As recording densities grow in the magnetic storage, nonlinear distortions arise and limit the performance of the detector. The nonlinear effects, partial erasure and transition shift, are difficult to be identified and simulated. In this article, we represent the nonlinear channel model in a pseudo-linear form that is much compact and intuitively easy for realization. In addition, the S-curves of a nonlinear channel are also given to verify this realization via computer simulations.
