Abstract :
A new proximity-coupled patch antenna is designed using a novel concept for wide impedance bandwidth of 2.3 GHz that corresponds to an impedance bandwidth of 30% (S11<-10 dB) around a center frequency of 7.5 GHz. The antenna provides hemispherical pattern. The radiation patterns obtained from simulations are found to be closely matching with experimental values. The gain of the antenna is better than 2 dB
