Abstract :
The substantial development of LANs has created a demand for LAN interconnection, which facilitates the move towards the ISDN. This is an important step towards the realization of a “global communication network”. We study the design, implementation and performance analysis of the gateway interconnecting various LANs across the ISDN. We model the store-and-forward and the connection setup and release process of the gateway by generalized stochastic Petri nets (GSPN). The results seem useful for the design and configuration of the gateway
