Abstract :
The efficiency of even the state of the art existing solar panels is low compared to other energy conversion methods. Solar panels are expensive, and consequently it is important to maximize the energy harnessed through the panels used in solar home systems and other applications. One source of inefficiency - incorrect orientation or positioning of the panels; can be removed by adjusting the positioning of the solar panels manually or automatically so that they receive the maximum amount of irradiation from the sun around the year. This paper proposes an algorithm based on single axis manual solar tracking system which will increase the efficiency of the solar systems in Bangladesh; currently fixed at a 23.5 degree inclination angle.
