Title :
Automated construction of ISDN signaling protocol tests
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
Presents a test construction method based on adapted reachability analysis for a system of communicating protocol entities. Starting from the formal protocol specification in the CCITT SDL languages, the test suites are produced automatically by a software tool according to predefined test coverage constraints. Regression testing will be substantially simplified since any protocol specification changes can immediately update the relevant test suites. Specific modifications to the standard reachability analysis are presented, extending its scope to conformance testing for very complex real-world ISDN signaling protocols. Prototype tools have been already implemented and tested for ISDN D-channel protocols
