Abstract
This paper derives simple computer-aided design (CAD) formulas of the components of the equivalent circuit of square spiral inductors on lossy substrate of two layers. The circuit components are the main inductor, its capacitors and conductance to ground, and resistance. The formulas are derived by synthetic asymptotes, duality, and analytical moment method. They are simple and give good physical insights. Compared with IE3D, the results of |S11| and |S21| agree very well
