Abstract :
The number of tailing pond incidents is on the rise, and the focus of research of overseas and domestic scholars is the safety of tailing ponds. Analyze causes of the tailings dam failure from natural conditions, project design, and administration of production safety and construction technology. Put forward control measures: strengthen study of stability of tailing dams, deformation monitoring and alert; enhance compilation of monitoring data; strengthen scientific management of tailing ponds. Provide technical support for safety of tailing ponds and prevention of tailings dam failure. Thus it is favorable for scientific protection against tailings dam failure.
