Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A harmonic multiplying two-stage tapered gyrotron traveling-wave tube is being investigated experimentally to achieve high power millimeter waves by tripling input frequencies. In this study, X-band input frequencies are multiplied to Ka-band at the 3/sup rd/ harmonic of electron cyclotron frequencies. A linearly tapered two-stage rectangular waveguide operating at the fundamental TE/sub 10/ mode is used.
