Abstract :
Genetic algorithms (GAs) have been successfully applied to the design optimization of electromagnetic devices. Practical issues relating to the implementation of the technique are examined. The possibility of a premature convergence in some applications is studied. Recommendations and guidelines to take these practical implementation issues into consideration are explained through application examples
