Abstract :
In many villages of Nepal, drinking water is brought to home from sources like springs, ponds, river, and rivulets through the pipes which are of enough height to produce electricity. Study and design of drinking water hydropower project (DWHP) for rural electrification is a new innovative alternative source of energy. This paper explains the cheap and increased energy generation from the existing drinking water supply and irrigation system found in villages. The out flow water can also be utilized for fisheries and other household purposes and can be used for irrigation. This paper describes the DWHP system of the Nagi VDC located in north eastern remote site of the Panchthar district in the eastern part of Nepal.
