Abstract
From 1990 to 2006, 8228 hockey injuries have occurred with 14.1% of them being to the hand. Hand surgeries today can vary in cost from $15,000 to $20,000 and in extreme cases can take up to 6 months for complete recovery. The purpose of this project is to design protective sports equipment focusing on materials with respect to hockey gloves. The goal will be to offer better protection for the user, while not compromising the range of motion or the comfort of the player.
