Abstract :
Speech and tone recognition has extraordinary potential for the application of Mandarin e-learning system. Mandarin e-learning system can greatly benefit from speech and tone recognition such as providing the learners´ speech and tone pronunciation accuracy so as to correct their pronunciation mistakes especially for the Chinese tone. This paper presents our Mandarin e-learning system and describes the speech and tone recognition technology used in the e-learning system in detail
