Abstract
Because of the absolute superiority in space and time complexity, 2D data model is used widely in the GIS industry, and has become the main model of GIS data storage. Now, the real-time 3D visual modeling based on two-dimensional GIS data has become the focus of attention. However, the traditional model of three-dimensional visualization based on two-dimensional GIS data has many problems such as data redundancy, non-uniform and function singleness. In order to solve these problems, this paper presents the concept of middleware of three-dimensional visualization based on the platform of Components GIS. Through the interaction among the middleware interfaces, three-dimensional view is associated with the two-dimensional GIS data, so that many operations can be done by users, such as query, edit and analysis based on the two-dimensional GIS data in the three-dimensional view. The middleware model not only ensures the independence of three-dimensional modules, but also safeguards the integrity of the data. And then the middleware model is applied to the design of three-dimensional functional modules of Chemical Pipe Gallery Management Application System, which is set up on GisPipe70, the City Pipe Information System platform, and gets a good effect of realization. Finally, the superiority of middleware models is analyzed.
