  • Abstract
    Fractal antenna has been extensively investigated because of its compact size and multiband characteristics. This paper presents a novel fractal folded-slot antenna using Sierpinski curves which are generated by L-Systems. A simple folded-slot antenna, the first iteration and the second iteration Sierpinski fractal folded-slot antenna were designed and simulated. The simple folded-slot antenna obtains a return loss of -37.5 dB at the resonant frequency of 10 GHz. The first iteration Sierpinski fractal folded-slot antenna provides a return loss of -30.5 dB at the resonant frequency of 9.4 GHz. The return loss of the second iteration Sierpinski fractal folded-slot antenna is -35.5 dB at the resonant frequency of 6.7 GHz.
