Abstract
Numerical analysis is a useful course which can solve various practical problems in engineering and research with the combination of mathematics and computer. In this paper, a demonstrating system of numerical analysis for visual teaching is designed and implemented based on MATLAB. The structure of the system and the specific algorithms are given, including interpolation method, numerical integration method, curve fitting method, finding roots of nonlinear equation, solving linear system of equations and solving initial value problem of ordinary differential equation. Visual teaching gives students intuitive descriptions through images or other forms, which helps students easily to understand mathematical principle and stimulates students´ learning activity. It has been proved in the recent years teaching application of numerical analysis in BUCEA that such an innovated methodology reduced the difficulty of teaching and understanding.
