Abstract :
Magnetostrictive level gauge is provided with some advantages such as long work-life, high accuracy, easy installation and a little recalibration, which makes it applied more widely. But its measurement accuracy is affected by temperature and product density as its floats are the sensing elements of liquid level and water-oil interface, in which the error caused sometime goes beyond the gauge´s absolute accuracy. The effective measures to reduce the influence, such as decreasing the float´s outer diameter and temperature-compensating are proposed.
