Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are constructed with low-cost, low-power sensor nodes. In WSN, a network congestion occurs when sensor nodes are densely distributed or network traffic is generated with high rate. The network congestion may cause data collisions, and it should be controlled in order to achieve low energy consumption, long network lifetime, and high link utilization. In this paper, we propose a node placement algorithm which can detect network congestions and avoid the congestion region in WSN. The goal of this paper is to provide an on-demand node placement algorithm to react to congestion regions and migrate the data traffic to non-congestion regions.
