Abstract :
The communications research group at Edith Cowan University has produced a new token passing MAC designed with QoS guarantees in mind. We show that our MAC is capable of supporting 30 simultaneous client nodes participating in VoIP conversations. We also show that 802.11e is unable to support the same number of users. Finally we show that we are able to significantly increase the total throughput of 802.11 whilst maintaining strict control over the time slice given to each user based on the traffic level in each client´s queues
