Abstract :
At high frequencies, the trace can suffer various transmission line effects, such as reflections, overshoot, undershoot, and crosstalk, seriously distorting the transmitted signal and damaging signal integrity. In this paper, 3D Transmission-Line Modelling(TLM) method was used to study the effects of transmission line. The characteristic impedance of the stripline and microstrip are obtained using the 3D TLM algorithm. A detailed account of each of transmission line effects is given. The aim is to model and simulate the high speed transmission process, predict the signal integrity issues and extract useful parameters affecting the signal integrity.
