Abstract :
The High Voltage Power Supply (HVPS) for the Seasat A Satellite Scatterometer (SASS) and its associated test console will be described. The HVPS provides the voltages and currents required by a high power, multi-staged depressed collector, grid modulated traveling wave tube (TWT). The systems requirements will be presented with a description of the selected design approach; performance characteristics; and prototype test data. The test console simulates the pulse loading effects of the Twr and measures the various aspects of resultant power supply performance. Jts unique requirements and the selected design approaches will also be presented.
