Abstract :
It has been widely recognized that faults caused by windage yaw with a relatively high probability in recent years. Hence it is of great significance to investigate the characteristics of flashover caused by windage yaw and discuss the influences of windage yaw. A mathematical model of swing angle of conductor is developed in this paper, and the influence of three main parameters is fully discussed, including wind speed, wind pressure coefficient and wind height factor. The results can provide fundamental guideline for the design of line and tower, which will optimize the design and make the faults caused by wind decrease largely
