Abstract
This paper discusses a new computer model developed at DRA to model HF skywave radars, which use ionospheric propagation to achieve coverage at ranges up to 3000 km. The purpose of the model described is to predict availability, which is defined as the long-term average percentage of time for which a specified radar performance level is likely to be achievable. The performance measure used is the median signal to noise ratio
