Abstract
We present the functional design of a random access memory (RAM) array which can be loaded in parallel in a single step. The rows of this array can be read out selectively thus reducing the overall time required for this operation. The optoelectronic RAM array presented here is a component of a larger architecture for digital optoelectronic information processing. This system is used as an interface between fast parallel optical memories and conventional electronic computers
