Abstract :
A parallel processing technique for multidimensional linear time invariant (LTI) systems is proposed. The resultant structures are regular, modular and highly parallelism. The approach used is systematic therefore, it would be useful for logic synthesis. The application of this approach in DSP and numerical computations reduces the design time which results in low design cost. this approach produces various structures (semi-systolic, quasi-systolic and pure systolic arrays) which could be considered as application specific array processors. The parallel algorithm described is used for mapping multidimensional DSP onto VLSI, ULSI and WSI array structures. The technique is used to design 2-D digital filters and parallel DFT structures for image processing applications
